Back to where we started
Not so long ago, most people ate from the ground they stood on. My grandparents' generation grew what they ate and ate what they grew. Vegetables came from an intensive plot beside the house - no fertilizer, no pesticides, just night soil and succession planting to keep the soil from wearing out.
